Association for Progressive Rental Organizations is the national
trade association devoted to the rental-purchase industry, which
is composed of businesses that rent furniture, appliances, computers,
jewelry and other home products with an option of ownership.
Also known as rent-vto-own, this is a $5.7 billion-a-year industry
serving approximately 2.8 million customers a year. Based in
Austin, TX, APRO was founded in 1980 and represents more than

American Rental Association (ARA), based in Moline, Ill.,
is a trade association of more than 7,200 rental business
owners and the manufacturers and suppliers of rental equipment.
We have members throughout the United States, in Canada and
in more than a dozen overseas countries.
The American
Rental Association is the structure for independent rental
dealers to accomplish goals they couldn't achieve individually.
And it's the network for manufacturers to market their products.
